Pressure contact terminal and its design method

Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure contact terminal, in which pressure contact terminal design can be conducted based on data measured under conditions similar to actual pressure containing connection, and connection characteristics required after the endurance time are met. SOLUTION: An object wire is pressure-contacted with a sample having a slot-formed pressure contact blade, and contact resistance and a contact load are measured, after the lapse of a predetermined duration time under predetermined atmosphere conditions. Tests discriminating strand disconnection are repeated using samples of plural kinds of slot widths W1, W2...Ws.... Based on the data, the slot widths and the like of the pressure contacting blade are designed, so as to satisfy conditions such as the contact resistance Re is stable after the lapse of the predetermined endurance time under the predetermined atmosphere conditions and no occurrence of the strand disconnection of the wire is allowed.
