Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption by reducing an arithmetic amount of a Viterbi decoder in the case that a transmission quality of a communication channel is excellent and to attain high speed processing by minimizing the arithmetic amount. SOLUTION: In the case of outputting a decoding discrimination result of a received signal by maximum likelihood estimate using the Viterbi algorithm, a communication path estimate section 22 estimates a communication path state. A state number control section 23 obtains a magnitude of a delay wave included in the received signal and a delay based on the communication path state estimated by the communication path estimate section 22 to determine a prescribed state number of Viterbi decoding and controls decode processing based on the state number. A Viterbi decoder 20 conducts the decode processing according to the control based on the state number determined by the state number control section 23. COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
(57)【要約】 【課題】 通信路の伝送品質が良い場合にビタビ復号器 の演算量が低減して、消費電力を低減させ、かつ、演算 量を必要最小限にして、その高速化処理を可能にする。 【解決手段】 ビタビアルゴリズムによる最尤系列推定 によって受信信号の復号判定結果を出力する際に、通信 路推定部22が通信路状態の推定を行う。この通信路推 定部22が推定した通信路状態から状態数制御部23に よって受信信号に含まれる遅延波の大きさと遅延量を求 めて所定のビタビ復号の状態数を決定し、かつ、この状 態数によって復号処理を制御する。状態数制御部23が 決定した状態数による制御に従ってビタビ復号器20 が、その復号処理を行う。
